How might we foster social connections for the elderly that will still be lasting when their mobility declines?
As part of a Design for America project, my teammates and I are conducting UX research on elderly populations in retirement homes, specifically looking at the issue of independent mobility.
We define mobility as the ability to move in a physical and social landscape.
Through this, we've taken a look at research through different angles: gathering personas, having elderly individuals journal/map their day, and playing a specially designed card game to help guide a conversation around their mobility habits. This project is currently in process!
